“…nailed a canvas about 7ft high and 10ft wide to the floor and poured oil colour on to the surface.”
“…her pigment – at this stage, oils thinned with turpentine – was poured gently on to raw canvas so that as it sank beneath the unprimed surface, it became an integral part of the canvas, not something laid on the surface.”
